Hi Brett, Nice work and the lyrics should work to a catchy piece of Country Music. I could hear Dolly singing this. One comment why not write another verse and then have Chorus, verse, chorus, verse ,chorus , (verse) then finish with the chorus. Other than my suggestion good song. Cheers Christine

Hi Brett,
You have written a very nice song and I really enjoyed reading it. As I was reading it the melody was kind of in my brain which was very nice too. You are wonderful at writing songs. At one time I was writing them too.

Another fine country and western style lyric from a master's pen. The theme of
"help me make it through the night" is a common enough motif that I have heard somewhere in other songs. It certainly has a ring to it and lends purpose to an otherwise casual affair.
Good to have you back with us again, Brett.

This is a sad, but so often true, song about a brokenhearted woman on the rebound looking for someone to set her free from the memories of a man who left her.
She's yours for a dance. Mister, O Mister.

yep I can hear a tune while reading this. make a song, and ill create an illustrated music video to go with your storyline and music. course I can offer some ideas with ya to let ya write it. I suck in English as a kid but as a illustrator I can draw the story. I want to thank you for selecting my work. the whole story is cool and I can only imagine how the music is gonna be and cant wait. oh btw if ya get the chance go to YouTube.com and search for name mkflood and there is about 14 illustrated music videos that I have done as for an example on my earlier suggestion. its an honor to have my work included with yours. great job on the story and thanks again.. mkflood

I like the recurring: Mister, O Mister, take me in your arms and hold me tight, then the changes within each stanza leading off of that. The artwork lends well to the content, as she adds more fire to her flame.
I like it, Brett, and my pick for the singer is Jana Kramer!

Brett, this should be an excellent country song! I can't sing a lick, but I tried and in my voice this caught and held my attention. I can think of who I would like to sing this! Two come to mind, Alan Jackson and Luke Bryan, I feel have the perfect voice ranges between them. Only my feelings because I listen to and love country music!
I wish you well with this really great song of her heartbreak and trying to get a man to get her to forget! I always wanted to compose country music lyrics, but never knew how!
Have a great day Brett my friend,,,,,,,,Jim

Excellent song lyrics. I will be expecting to hear it on the radio. It's sure to make the top ten. I'm sure it will be a hit, maybe even a cross-over.

This is well written with good flow and rhyming. I realize this piece is meant to be song lyrics. It would do well as a country song. Illustration, as you say, is perfect accompaniment. Marilyn
