This was awesome. I'm giving you a six for authenticity. It was bold and different and refreshing. You had me smiling at the end when Buddy jumped in the car. In a very short time and with the right choice of words and phrasing, you made me care about a dog named Buddy.

Yes, amahra, I amazed myself at how much drama I packed in such a short piece. Thanks for calling this bold and different and for noting my right word choice. Thank you for your generous, six star review.

Very humorous and an upbeat sound. And animal friendly also. It's not good to leave the family (pet) behind, especially a dog. That dog could save your life one day.

Oh, thank you, Daniel, for your cheerful review. I have been watching news about the California fires in which families evacuated so quickly, they left their pets behind. Sometimes there are joyful reunions; sometimes guilt and loss. Thanks again.

Dogs were reunited with their families after wandering around in Texas after hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana.

Wow, that's a true Buddy story. Thank you for sharing.

SIX STARS for you, dear poet. Your poem is so filled with suspense and thrills hoping the dog gets found. Such emotion and sheer determination as boy is determined to wait on his dog. Your refrain shows great conviction and could be a song. CHECK out mine also and my 2 books in my profile. WELL DONE! lolol liberty justice

Thank you, Liberty Justice, for your encouraging, generous six star review. This song is my final due tomorrow for my songwriting class. I have been rehearsing so that I could perform it from memory before my songwriting class and before audiences at a Thursday night open mic and beyond.
Clocking in at one minute and fifty-five seconds, my song has more suspense and thrills than a song twice its length. The audience, reader, or listener will not know if Buddy has been found until the closing lines before the chorus.
I looked in your portfolio but did not find a song. Please direct.
Thanks again for your review.

I have 2 books in my portfolio. Put them on your social media accounts and pass around. Thanks! liberty justice

Good luck in your songwriting class.

Yes, Liberty Justice, my teacher, classmates, and I had a lot of fun tonight. They are urging me to write more and put my performance pieces on stage. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Check more of mine out also.

Great song lyrics for something sad becoming something happy, and isn't that we all want in life? There is so many bad things going on in our world today, and it is great to read something positive. Great job, thanks for sharing.

Good for you, Sis Cat. These lyrics are great. I am proud of you for not only writing it, but planning to perform it. Your theme pulls at the heart. The repetition at the end is well done.

Oh, thank you, Nancy, for your review. I performed a draft of my song before a coworker today, and she loved it. I look forward to my songwriting finals tomorrow and an open mic on Thursday.

Your author notes explains how thoughtful and detailed your are in telling and writing your stories. It held my attention and good alliteration of h, o, s, t, d, g, j, and r, words. Your story within a poem flowed well with a boy's love for his dog. It also rhymes well and I also like your repeating stanza. Best Wishes!

Sis Cat, i love this song. As I was reading it I could almost hear the traffic outside the car and the pleading of the boy to go back and get his dog. Nicely done and good luck with the performance. Patricia

This was a really uplifting and delightful work of great compassion, sensitivity and admiration for a beloved dog, which I can relate to entirely! I Love dogs and everything that celebrates and recognizes the wonderful creatures they are and how much they love to care for their human owners. I cannot suggest anything to make this work any better but I thank this author for a great read! HIS GRAYNESS;

This was really cute and creative what you have penned about the little child not wanting his dog to be left behind. I can see it being like a Chuck Berry song. Very good wording and great imagery. This is a good share a story in a poem contest. Best wishes in the contest. Teri
