Ah, the abuse a New Yorker takes for being a bit bombastic. Not at all like anyone else in the public eye (I'm still waiting for the promised celebrity exodus).
A very funny poem, CD. Your clever couplets and even rhythm make the merging of two timeless personalities seamless and a lot of fun to read. :) Nancy

A New Yorker? This is about a Spanish pirate, Nancy ;-)
Many thanks for the lovely comments.

This is a don-gone bedazzling poem, bewildering in some of its passages
but holds one attention attentively. The formidable foto adds mood and imagery to your poem, as do your footnotes.

Comment from Meia (MESAYERS)
So on with the voyage, haul anchor, we're off;
and pay no attention to those who must scoff.
We're destined for Dream World, where there's not a care,
and Don Cacafuego will lead us all there.
A truly brilliant write. I loved the story. So well written. Kindest regards and warmest wishes Meia xx

For teaching me a wonderful and useful word, and for writing a very humorous poem that speaks much more truth than its subject ever has. The poem is very entertaining and it mad me laugh out loud, especially when I found out the translation of the word of the day, "Cacafuego." A word I can learn to love.

Thank you for adding a useful word to my vocabulary.

A most inventive and a fun, fanciful poem, about a created mean man encased in a word, (I think Don in Spanish is like Fitz in England, Van or Von in Dutch/German, some sort of noble background). This most inventive work, it moves at a rate of knots. It's articulate, meter perfect ,11 syllables per line, and aabb rhyming, well done, blessings, Roy

Oh heck, I really enjoyed this one. The Don, so I've
caught on lately, is what he's called. Your imageries
brought tears of laughter to my eyes. That good man
likes to be the greatest. See how he marries them meek
and subservient women from poor Eastern Europe.
He wants service, not resistance...

I love the rollicking way you draw the symbolism of our political climate of today. I'm sure the Don Cacafuego will get a deep tan as he sails his expensive ship on the seas of turmoil. I loved your poem!

I hope he gets a deep tan, it would have to look better than the fake one he's got, or is that his real skin colour?
Many thanks for the great review,
Craig
Comment from Antonio T.
Great humorous take on todays headline news...Some call it Dream World...Some call it Real World begs the question...Are we sailing the high seas or already sunk to the bottom... and how did we end up on this ship...Answers are very, very divided...so cut off both extremes, call it a submarine and the voyage continues...thank you for the clever, thought provoking, very well written poem.

You wrote well, wherever one wants to go with the subject matter, which can be applied to many a situation, as well the one stated in your author's notes. I thought this cleverly done without being degrading to any entity, and as a poem is written with irony in mind, and you did it well.
Best wishes.

Comment from Bill Schott
This poem, Don Cacafuego, is a hoot of a jab at the President of the United States. It wasn't until I got to the end that it hit me, and I had to reread to get the supreme laugh. Terrific.
