Apparently I myself write a lot of quatorzain poems, Craig,
heh-heh.
Sad, but true nonetheless.
Just when I think I've got the unstressed/stressed, da-
DUM thing down pat, I go off the deep end and screw it all up by reverting back to my meter of choice; trochaic meter.
Oh well...it isn't for lack of trying, right?
Thanks for the laugh and for sharing this English son-not...or
sonnet if you prefer, with us.

I've got that problem licked too, Dean. Now, I just put in the comment up top "mixed meter", and people think I did it on purpose! Thanks for the great review :) Craig

haha I know what you mean Craig. I got a good laugh from this. You did a great job with the 'almost' sonnet--good rhymes, flow, & form.
I tried writing one a while back & knew it would not fir the form. So I named it something like "So Not a Sonnet"
Good job. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Thanks very much, Jan. Glad to know I'm not the only one. I've written a couple that started out to be, but ended up as something different. This time my "word book" gave me a valid excuse :) Cheers, Craig
