Haha! You thought outside of the box on this one, Craig! Musical chairs was always such a favorite game played at children's birthday parties. I don't recall ever winning. I guess I wasn't "persistent" enough.
This is quite clever. Best wishes for the contest with this very original 5-7-5.
Cheers,
Connie

I don't remember ever winning that game either, Connie. Thanks for the wonderful comments and the glowing rating. I'm really grateful for both. Craig

Yeah -- I would say the only time he's 'victorious' is when he let the other guy win (and that 'guy' knows it!). :) :) This is really great, Craig! :) :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! :) Yvette :)

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem with a little humor. The last man standing at musical chairs games are usually the loser because he was unable to find a chair when the music stops.

Comment from Gloria ....
Haaa, this is funny and also true, even I wanted to say, never victorious rather than seldom victorious, but then after tossing it around a few times I decided you picked exactly the right word.
Best of luck to you with the Contest Committee.

I like this. It got me thinking. Typically being the last man standing is seen as an achievement, but you've nailed the one time it isn't. That was clever on your part.

Craig, This is a really good 5-7-5 poem you have penned for the contest. You used very good words that made a lot of sense. I have never thought about that. Best wishes in the contest my friend! Blessings, Teri

Lol. I guess it's like bragging having the biggest number after a golf game. I never did figure out scoring tennis. Good use of a well known phrase and fun twist at the end!

You think tennis scoring is hard? Let me explain cricket to you...
An innings is when, one after another, 11 batsen go in. When one gets out, another goes in, until they are all out. Then the side that was in goes out, and the side that was out goes in, until they are all out. then they do it all again.
I have no idea why people find that complicated!
Many thanks, Helen.
