How cute is this! Every worker who has ever found themselves entering the last days of a well-deserved vacation long for the day they can smile to themselves and declare... "Ah...Retirement..." and stay another day! Adorable. Love your 5-7-5!

These words are so true, once you retire there is no turning back. I daughter once suggested I get myself a little job? I just said what for? He he he, wise honest words, love Dolly x

Lol. So was the vacation a "radical retirement?" Or did the retirement happen because of the vacation? And does the last line mean he doesn't want to go back to work or back to retirement?

What we all live for and hopr we dont die before. Great job, great words, structure for just a tiny little poem is carries with it a powerful littel punch.

I enjoyed this great short work, even though it left me with a lot of questions. Where was the vacation? What about the retirement? I picture you maybe trekking through Borneo or saving orphans in or similar awesome adventures. And where do you not want to go back to? Laundry piled up and stacks of dirty dishes? A cranky spouse? The burdens of caregiving? I just wonder . . . . . Kind of amazing how so few words can bring on so much to think about. Thank you for sharing your work. :)
