Hey, Craig,
I was up early and decided to check out some poems.
Read this nonet, a touching piece. Very spot on. Strong rhyming scheme, and the drill down to love makes good use of the form.
I tend to be a lurker around fanstory, not one to really engage with the crowd, really, but I see things going on, recognize pillars that have a shine, and feel the loss when they go. I expect there are quite a few shadows like me, nodding quietly with those who can say things better.

Hi Turtle,
I'm much the same. I butt heads with a few people I don't really know in the forum, but apart from that, I don't have much interaction with other members. Some people, we can not know very well, but still have reason to be thankful for their kindness. When many people feel that way, odds are we are talking about someone special.
Thanks for the lovely review.
Craig

Hello Victoria, it's lovely to hear from you.
Thank you for the wonderful review, I'm so pleased you liked it. It's a tribute to a friend, who I know for certain is remembered that way.
Most grateful,
Craig

So very true, Craig. I think it would be much better to be remembered for being a good and kind person than to be remembered for any achievement (no matter how big it might be).
An excellent message in this nonet poem! Syllable count for each line is spot on, and the picture that you chose complements your poem.
Now, you'll have to write one to enter into the contest. :)
Cheers,
Connie

I find nonets hard work, Connie, but I'll try :)
Many thanks for the supportive and kind comments.
Cheers,
Craig

I like how the lines flow into each other as the nonet form lends itself to enjambment. I loved the message of the poem - it's what we all hope for, that at our life's end, our lives would be full of love and leave a legacy of love to those our lives connected with.

Yes, well, maybe one day I'll get there myself. There's a little work to be done first ;-)
Many thanks, Helen.

I found this quite lovely, but have no idea of contest suitability. It is just beautiful and the artwork is soothing and calm. Please do another one, for your work always pleases. This is a great write!!

A faithful thought expressed in a short and charming poem. Love is in kindness, gentleness, compassion and more... Your art work fits well into the concept of abundance.

Hi Craig , what a great message about values and perspective on what success and wealth really mean. I wholeheartedly agree and thought you did a great job with the nonet. Good form and syllable count as well.

Thanks so much, Pam. Unfortunately, knowing the right path and staying on it are two different things. Some manage it pretty much all the time, and others of us try to get there, often failing :) Most grateful, Craig

Hi Craig, this is a fitting nonet poem and a lovely one to boot. I loved it. Yeah if you show kindness and are prepared to give it then you'll receive it back tenfold. I thought it would have been a lovely entry with a great message. All best. Ulla:))

Why is this not appropriate for a contest entry? I must be doing something wrong. I would have entered this in a heartbeat and expected to win. Please do another so that I can see what you deem contest worthy. Pressure huh?
I enjoyed this so much. I did a six word poem early on in my fan story career, all one year of it, and I said something about all I need is a kindly man. Kindness is everything.

Haha. This was just a warm-up, wait til you see the real thing!
(I'm kidding).
Thanks so much for the wonderful, delightful comments, Debbie, and the stellar rating. Glad you relate, and I hope you found (or find) your kindly man :)
Cheers,
Craig
