Hi there. A very beautiful and well constructed short poem. A very deep sense of true love captured. A very well written entry. Well done and best of luck. Lourens

PlayinAround,
Your artwork is gone from your post.
After forty plus years, your heart hasn't yet healed, but it keeps beating anyway, to laugh at you and remind you, you can never be free.
Excellent five-line poem.

Grief can indeed stay with us, we never get over it, but we learn to live with it, although the gnawing still eats away at our soul and our hearts are laughing, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you so much for your comforting words!

excellent the sound of a broken heart that still replies to the physical heart which saturates the longing for release. Its good and portrays a talent.

I do not think time heals. I believe the pain becomes a little less sharp, and we get used to how that pain feels. At least that has been my experience. But as the wounds start to heal, then we are left with scars. Those are not comfortable either. Life does strange things to all of us and we just have to try and keep going. This poem is very well written.I never thought of a heart beating to spite someone, but it's a very intense thought. Good luck in the contest!

Hey, kiddo... I'll trade your 40+ for my 50+ any day of the week and twice on a Sunday! Not last summer, but the one before that... the last weekend of July, through the second week in August, I managed to fracture both ankles, then freeze and tear my left shoulder. I didn't know that my ankles were actually fractured until they weren't getting any better after a couple of months, in October. Until then we just thought they were badly sprained. I had 2 Orthopedic specialists. 1 for the ankles, 1 for the shoulder, which I had frozen. I finally got to see the shoulder dr. about a month after I did it. Most of my range of motion was back, not all of it though. She took my arm and raised it above my head... fast. I'm pretty sure that's when it tore, looking back. I waited for it to heal after that and didn't see her, until a few weeks ago, I finally went for an MRI. They said that it was torn, (something I didn't know before) that the tear wasn't big enough to operate on but would take a while to heal.
My ankles are in pretty much the same boat, I think they're as healed as they're going to get, but after being on them for about an hour and a half straight, they start to hurt.
So, I'll take your 40+ you babe-in-the-woods ... you can have my 50+ lol :)

Playin around. Yes, doesn't life sometimes play around with us, plopping things in that we didn't ask for or expect, them pulling them out from under us for who knows why. I like the up and down feeling of your poem.

Just loved the narrative of this well written five line poem. It seems a little downbeat, but certainly different from others I've read, well done, a good entry, good luck, blessings, Roy

I know that I've heard that saying. I think that some people think that time must have forgot them because they're still wounded. I love the message of this and enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done!
