Yes, your use of irony is subtle in this senryu. If we weren't aware of the current political situation, it wouldn't be known exactly what is referred to with the use of allusion and irony.
A fine post of a most tragic situation that might lead to change for the better everywhere.

This is a good'un Gypsy, the black swan is the Australian swan, for all intents and purposes, I love the concept of this, of course the white swan is of the Northern hemisphere, but sin is common to all, well done, blessings, Roy

A super tribute to the man recently murdered by the long blue line. We recognize that most police officers are doing their duty to protect lives every day. Sadly, these four accused officers did not keep that pledge. Let's hope that justice will be served and that they suffer appropriately for their sins against mankind.
