Willowmina is one smart lady .very cleverly she has got all the ts to gather and discuss the Thanksgiving party. She gave a fine twist at the end. I like the names. I was trying to imagine the get together with all the children their spouses their exes children etc etc....Tons of fun.

Hi Terry, this was a fun story I think it's a great idea that they're all are invited out for a special Thanksgiving. But it comes with the caveat that the favour is returned at Christmas. Very well written. Ulla:)))

I love Grandma Willowmina's plan for Thanksgiving. I wish she had been around when my family had large Thanksgiving dinners. This story was well written with clear authentic dialogue that pushed the story forward. You're a great short fiction story writer of enjoyable tales.
Note: I don't have to go the store (go to the store)

You know my favorite part of most stories is the dialogue -- the place where the reader gets to know the characters. You have done an outstanding job in letting us readers into the real four t's as well as mom's personalities.
I enjoyed the story from word one -- a bit concerned about Christmas. Will there be a follow-up - an after Thanksgiving story?
I like the mom-- she is where I am this year -- giving up Christmas and I'm not unhappy about it!!! Can't wait to see how it all turns out.
Good writing. ann

LOL, thank you for the six stars! A follow-up for this group at Christmas might be interesting. I will think about it. Thank for the kind review. Terry.

This story, Thanksgiving, Texas Style, is a hoot all the way through as the Four Ts figure out whether the matriarch is out to lunch or if the enterprise makes sense. The eventual layout of what is defined as extended family is definitely a regional understanding. Everything is big in Texas, they say.
As suggested in the end, Christmas had better rock!

Bill, LOL, thank you for the fun review. You and Ann have given me an idea, maybe I can do something with group for Christmas. Thank you for reading, Terry.
Comment from Begin Again
Sounds like this Matriarch has it all under control, corralling the family commotion into one place and giving everyone a chance to relax and be thankful for what they have. My children always left everything to me. When I was younger, I loved it, but as the family grew, I felt more like the caterer than the head of the family. Wonderful idea!

Carol, Thank you for reading. I think Grandmothers and Mothers achieve a rite of passage about Thanksgiving. Terry.

i enjoyed reading your Thanksgiving, Texas style post.
We have been planning our meal and what we bring for a week or two already. I especially liked the ending! It is fun to get together, but also a lot of work! Sarah

A delightful story with lots of believable personalities. Did my family up and move to Texas? Sounds frighteningly similar, except it's the Dolphins on TV and my family opining for Dan Marino while wrestling for the wish bone. Those were the days. Your family is brave to invite the ex wives. Hopefully a pastor/referee is there is call off sides and throw a penalty flag if needed. The time out chair is always a good option.
A delightful read and more to come for the Christmas dinner. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Terry dear. Blessings to you always,

Sally thank you for the six stars! This is a fiction story, but when my wife was alive she did have 10 to 12 people over, and always worked it around the Cowboy game. Terry.

To date the largest Thanksgiving dinner was around 60 or so including dogs. I'm searching for the picture now and hope to have it up on my page. I'm in the middle in sunglasses next to my husband and immediate family. Sal

Stories abound from lives we lived and are rarely told. The scene and conversations implied are part and parcel of events that happens every November. I can hear the chatter taking place even before the guests arrive.

Very interesting realistic dialogue. Made me feel a little anxious about the holidays as my family does little planning.
There was a couple of dialogue spots where I wondered if a comma should replace the period For example:
Teri pipes up. "There is always a dash to get to
(Pipes up being action words for speaking like says or said).
Also (There is as there's) cause people almost always speak in contractions in real life.
Just my two cents
I gave this a six because of the fantastic detailed character development my friend. You are so good!

Doug, thank you for the six stars, and I do think you are right on both commas, I changed it. Thank you for reading and for your input. Terry.
