Any fan who has been with you from chapter one or thereabouts, should welcome you member dollars. You have been very generous. Those complaining are just dollar scavengers! The only reason they read are to grasp the $$$$.
This story is getting very interesting. I like Seth's moxie in arresting that "B" that rhymes with itch and getting closer to Emma.
Looking forward to more.
Have a great Sunday...

An excellent chapter. I was happy to see that Ms. Barton is being dealt with. Talk about pushy. I guess she felt she had Emma out of the way and Seth all to herself. Surprise. She is pushy Seth away.
Emma does have a lot to deal with at the moment. Thankfully, Seth is there for her and visa versa.
Thanks for the author notes about cocaine babies.
I actually prefer longer chapters so I don't have to wait for what comes next, but I understand that is not the norm for FS readers. I am trying to keep the chapters for my current novella to around 900 words because I was told it might get me more readers. It feels so constricting but its only an experiment.

It's true, it does get more readers, but you still need to add money to it. Thank you for the kind review.

Just like real life. If you don't promote your book, it won't sell.

This is a wonderful chapter with relationships growing and others being healed. It flows well and leaves readers eager for the next chapter.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, as well, Barbara.

Now I want to know more about Emma's birth mother, I wish I had the next chapter to read right now. I could really feel the emotions Emma was going through in your writing, it's right she's been through a lot in the past few days, and I was glad to see that Seth still values their friendship. Another excellent chapter Barbara.

Like any other human condition, I do not believe that there is a hard fast rule covering substance abuse through addiction. I have known people who were addicted to their first hit of a drug. I have known others who were able to use a drug for recreational purposes and were able to put that drug use aside and function as successfully as any non-drug user.
As for Peggy Barton, it is about time she learned, that you cannot force someone to love you, especially when you use crass sexuality in an effort to seduce someone who plainly does not want you.

My goodness gracious you do leave us with our jaw hanging open till the next one. This was great and I am sure we will get more details later, but give her a rest. She has been through quite enough. Give Peggy problems for a while.:-) Karen

Emma's quite definitely overly proud, Seth is only trying to step into the gap, mainly to protect her from here self, although she she's got a mean adversary in Peggy, but Seth has taken care of her. It seems Emma's fifteen year old mother put her up for adoption, and that's why she's adopted, adoptees are usually so much better off than some who have natural parents, there's no difference really, well dine, blessings Roy

Well, being adopted myself I sympathise a long way with this. Of course, what I have no experience of is to have a mother of crack cocaine. My real mother just couldn't afford to have me. I found my real mother in 2003, so I know.
I think Emma is an anxious person. She could do with a little self confidence. Ulla:)
