Great rhyme ing going on here. Lovely rhythm too. Such a sweet tale told with just the right tone. 'tabor'! Brilliant. Shakespeare used a tabor for his music!

Thanks for the review. I glad you liked it. My children were all large babies except the twins. They were 6'9 and 6'12 which is big for twins. My babies never came quick. It always took hours.

My Mary and I was blessed to have six, three boys, three girls. but one girl was born the day before Perl Harbor Day. Mary was never no problem, not more than a grunt and they were here. I am glad you had good help during your moments. No doubt it is a miserable time. Good one, Beth.

Thanks for the nice review and the six stars. I gave birth to five but I lost the first one at two months. All my labors were long and painful and all my babies were big except the twins which were 6'9 and 6'12 which was big for twins.

An excellent story in a poem which has great rhyme, smooth metre, and lively flow, and a fine amount of humour. A nice nod to Edgar Allen Poe as well. Best wishes for the contest.

Is this true? There were twins on both sides of the family and I thought I was having twins in my first pregnancy because I got so big. But no, I just had a huge baby. 9 lbs. 6 ounces 21 inches long. He was big. Good story. Karen

Thanks for the review and comments. Yes this is very true. My twins weighed 6'9 and 6' 12 so that a lot of baby. With their individual water bags it was no wonder I looked like a blimp.

I'm almost jealous to say this (because I've always felt so connected to him) but the way you chose to rhyme and measure the length of your lines, following a quatrain form was brilliant, and honestly reminded me of "The Bells" written by Edgar Allan Poe. In that poem, similar to what you did here, Poe uses line length, rhyme, and onamonpia, to sort of create a jingle feeling... Hence- "THE BELLS" It's so profound when you consider it, printed words are relaying stored stimuli of bells ringing throughout the reader's entire essence. Like your poem, it metaphorically becomes a galloping tempo. Great Job!!!!

Thank you so much for the review. A few words were borrowed from the Raven. I've always like Poe's poems and stories. I had to do a dramatic resustation of Telltale heart for a contest once. I enjoyed your comments.

Heck yes! Edgar would appreciate this...
Super job keeping "The Raven" pace and meter while captivating me with your verse!
Love your final line...
Most husbands would feel that way!

Thank you Karenina. I so glad you like this and think Edgar might appreciate it. I hope you are having a good birthday. I know you'll be getting poems from the birthday poets.

Your poem was great! I read it out loud as if it were "The Raven"--
So much fun! I'm gearing up for "70" tomorrow.
Yikes!

This poem is hilarious. I have studied Poe's famous poem "The Raven" and liked it. But your rhyming poem is much more cheerful and humorous. I like the rhyming scheme a lot.
Netflix has a TV series based on Poe's short story "The Fall of House of Usher."
Excellent.

Thank you for a great review and six stars. I've always been a Poe fan. Once I had to recite his entire story "Telltale Heart" on stage.

Such a cute poem about having your twins arrive during the holidays. I'm sure if you had to bend over to tie your shoe it would have been difficult. I'm glad they arrived and were healthy.

Thanks for this poetic presentation about the birth of your twins. My wife had a very painful C-Section and didn't even want to look at the baby, she was in so much pain. I'm glad yours was so much more bearable.

Thank you Jim it was bearable but painful and all day thing. I appreciate the review and comments. I had given birth to two babies before. We lost the first on at two months from a DPT injection.
