I like Paul a lot. I think that the mother-in-law is a lot of the sons problems. I had a mother-in-law like that. She caught her son cheating and it was still my fault.

Another very well written chapter, Barbara. The dialogue is so believable. This is a tough subject and you handle the presentation of it so well. I am glad that Anna is getting so much support. She needs all that she can get. That mother-in-law is a real nasty piece of work!

God, Bobby really scared me when the guy who bought Anna's car said that Bobby said "she won't need a car where she's going. That can only mean one thing. He really intends to kill her. And the mother-in-law from hell, is not helping much. Loved this chapter. Great writing as always my dear. I know what Anna is going through. I hope it ends for her the way it ended for me.

I have taught my son to have respect for women...that no, means no. That he is to be kind and helpful...I despise people who act like this woman. This chapter is well done. It gives some insight into the selfish nature of spouse batterers. My wife's twin sister was married to a monster that had no conscience. He beat his wife and children for no apparent reason at all. He would also take advantage of anyone so long as he thought he could get away with it. You have aptly described the character of such a person, a person easily recognized by anyone who has experienced a similar situation.
