I really felt like I was walking along with you and Buddy while I was reading this. Everything just seemed natural and peaceful. I enjoyed reading this very much :)

Susan,
This is an exceptional slice-of-life with an old woman and her dog. I thoroughly enjoyed this post and found nothing to criticize.
Thundersnow is not at all common, but I have heard it.

I am too sore from surgery to carry on right now! :) I have heard thunder in winter three times over the years...it's SO neat! I love it! Tho, we had cool summers all three times! Strange! Thanks again for the extra stars too! :)) Susan

Man you write sooooo well.I never would have thought reading about someone's jaunt out doors could be so interesting, but some how you make it so.While I was reading I could see my dog in the yard out of the corner of my eye.I think I'll go take him for a walk.Great read, God bless-Michael.

Strong opening paragraph and intro to the narrator
a flash of lightening - lightning
I shed my heavy coat, and Buddy - add comma
A wonderful slice of life story that plays itself out in the inner musings of the narrator as she reacts to her surroundings :-) Brooke

I've never heard of thundersnow, but I liked the story. I can't wait for spring myself. I love the picture, but I have to admit I can't wait for all of that snow to melt.

HI Cindy! It's an odd thing...and I've heard it exactly three times in my life! Neat! BUT, it does usually mean a chilly summer? In my experience! SO, who knows...I just want spring! Just google this and you will be able to see the pictures and articles too if you like! :) Thank you for this great review...Susan

Here I am!! I LOVED this one Susan. Such a simple line, written so well, brought me to tears: "He misses my happy."
Yes, thunder in winter is so rare and always exciting. Well written and joyful. Yes, "a good day to be alive"!!
