Very heart wrenching story and easy to follow each person's moves and gestures. Thanks so much for sharing this! I like the picture also.

barbara:
This is excellent. No one should ever underestimate the
bond between a mother and her child - especially when the
child is too young to take care of himself and could end
up in the hands of Anna's crazy mother-in-law. I think
this posting is spot on.
thanks for sharing

This is another sad chapter, but there are glimpses of hope, as Anna struggles to come out of the coma. You can feel the anxiety and tension yet the anticipation, especially as Michael calls to his mom and she shows some signs of recognition. She is indeed a fighter, and thankfully not the type to allow her circumstances to keep her down.
If people who are being abused do not have strength of will, and someone encouraging them, it is very difficult for them to overcome the abuse, and many end up dead or seriously hurt.
Your conversation flows nicely and you pay a great deal of attention to detail.
Good job as usual.

Anna is a fighter, and you're portraying her as such, Barbara. I like it that she didn't just pop up, all awake and sunny at the sound of Michael's voice. Well done. :) nancy

This is beautifully written. I have not read any of the other chapters, but this writing captivated my interest. I got chills when I read the part about Michael and his mom's responding with her eyes. Beautiful.

Poor little guy. Hopefully his mom wakes up soon. Looks like she will. Good job with this chapter. It's written well and ends at a good point.

Very well done. How confusing this must be to a child as I know it is to a grownup. My dad was in a coma when he passed away. Well written~~Debbie

Oh yes, the love of a mother for her child can produce miracles. I really like the twist in here; little Michael, the miracle worker. This is a very moving chapter.
