That is a simple yet very special poem. There is something to say about revitalizing and being joy back. I really enjoyed the wording and the flow. Thank you for sharing.

A wonderful and filled poem of memories from wall to wall. Almost 100 years old...wow...I can only image the silent laughter, cries, and talk throughtout the halls of this treasure...home.

Thanks Nicci and you're right, if these walls could only talk. Have a great day my friend. Bill

What a wonderful story about a great place with lots of memories and deep roots. It is, indeed, a description of a "home" for generations. Glad you took the time to remodel and now love it as much as your grandpa did. Best of luck in the contest. Sue

Thank you Sue for your nice comments, I appreciate it very much. Yes, I originally thought I would tear the old house down and rebuild a new home in its same spot, I thank God that I didn't do that. Have a wonderful day. Bill

Hi Bill :) Thank you for entering the contest!
I love that this is a true story - I'm presuming the photograph is of your home, the house your grandpa built. It is gorgeous, in a beautiful setting and I can imagine that inside will be warm and welcoming.
Nice abcb rhyme scheme and a very enjoyable read.
Good luck in the booth! Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

Hello Bill,
Your author notes are as touching as the poem itself - and the picture finishes the experience off so nicely.
What a feel good poem! Thank you. :)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Bill, I really like the thoughts here. Not very many
people can do what you have done, move back to a family
home place. Good job on your rhyming quatrains for
this contest on Home.
