It's so hard to know that one so brave and consistently offers her heart and soul to so many is on such a downward spiral. I feel the light still holding her upright, gently and softly giving to all those who know her and read her wonderful poems, a glimpse of her amazing courage.
Each day I go to her profile page to read, holding my breath, sending out love with countless others, including Dr. Young.
Blessings to you, the Zooters and Ted (I hope I got the names right) In pain, she still remains our warrior princess, fighting for the light to cast its healing glory.

Yes, Maureen it seems is definitely fighting for her life, & with your poem, the second stanza is where, too, I have come to acknowledge that this Celtic Warrior has the right to choose now, though we pray that merciful angels will intercede & our prayers will be answered that she will return ...She has given us so much, with her beautiful works of poetry, her struggles we have seen her bravery through it....I wish that I had a six to give, your beautiful poem, "Her Victory (Maureen)" is truly a vibrant, lovely read from beginning to end that I think she would appreciate, & hopefully awaken to read..Thanks so much for sharing.

Sometimes we have to let a loved one know, it's alright to go on. Some may not agree with that but that's their choice.
Well done with this one, Buck

What a perfect poem for this friend - I so admire your courage in giving her the liberty to choose, too. She is an inspiration to all her know her, and only she knows how much she battles (though we all try to understand, and send her healing thoughts and best wishes).
This is a marvelous poem, strong, and so full of love.

Is she still in a comma? What hospital is she in. Thank you for sharing this lovely tribute to a beautiful person. Blessing to you.

Ben Colder, yes I believe she is. She is still fighting but fading. I don't know what hospital she is in, but I am sure Tonulok does. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Jlsavell

Your words embrace my heart, Jimi. I have felt this way for awhile and am gratified you could put these words into a poem with so much depth of love and emotion. Maureen really became more active in the past few years when i kind of slowed down posting while writing a book about my own journey. I have read most all MAureen's work although not much reviewing, and have been inspired in her a natural gift to offer beauty and hope. I do believe that when our time to see the other side of the stars comes we do hope our loved ones will give us their blessing. The worst part of leaving in my mind is leaving those we love.
If you could whisper in her ear was such beautiful sentiment and truly all your words are a celebration of a brave and giving heart. I have no doubt her family have given her permission. Thank you for sharing this poem. It has brought me a great sense of peace and feeling of being blessed with an abundance of little miracles in life. Joyce xx

Joyce, thank you ever so much. I was apprehensive about this post because we often survive emotional turmoil with denial. I am truly humbled.
I have often wondered where you were and how you are. I deal with wonderful women every single day who have had breast cancer and fit them for prosthesis and compression when needed, also wigs. I would love to hear of your journey. Your book would be a wonderful addition to our office.
Again thank you. Jimi.

Your words capture a feeling of love and encouragement. Excellent use of words and rhyming of words. Your flow of lines remind me of the Psalms, there is a spiritual feel to your poem and I like how you give support to Maureen in this difficult time.

This is absolutely exquisite with a heightened, refined and grace-filled tone and tenor, expressing my sentiments exactly...like you wrote my heart's thoughts about our beloved Maureen with your own heart pen.
I simply love this, my friend. It is beautiful, rich in love and serenity, and laced with divine gratitude. It has musicality with fine rhyming, smooth fluid flow and pacing, nice smattering of poetic devices. It has fine metaphorical imagery and a powerful closing note of VICTORY whatever happens...which is so true and an uplifting attitude too.
Nice assonance of EE here and outstanding meaning too:
Should you choose to stay asleep in needed peace;
whence all your pain leaves in this slumber's wake,
Potent line:
while swimming the riptide of Cancer's Sound
Super potent stanza:
With valor you've forged the bleak Abyss of Despair
Climbed the daunting peaks of Relentless Pain
Trekked the dismal valley of Incurable Pass
Insuring mankind's Hope is never slain
Pitch perfect closing:
whether in life's greatest sorrow, or immeasureable joy
We'll celebrate you Braveheart
Our Celtic Warrior's
Victory
Thanks for sharing this, voicing this. I hope her children read it to her. she will hear it, I am sure.
Love and Light,

rd, thank you. I could well in tears absolutely. Love and light to you also. I think of her constantly. If either of my daughters were in her shoes, I want to give them permission to go. I am sure her children have too. They know the love she has for them. Such a legacy.. inspiring..
