A great way to share the knowledge we have all learned on FS. One year to the next, I liked how you explored the reality of the process. You made it simple and easy to follow. Overall a great written work - I'm sure it will help many newbies in the transition from year to year.

You always have encouraging words of wisdom. I hope it's not six again this year. It was only two the first year I joined. I just wish people took the reviewing aspect of this game more seriously. Rank quests and ego boosts don't serve one much outside of Fanstory. That is what the site advertises and what brought me here in the first place. Though I may be slightly disillusioned, truth is I am really busy, I haven't stopped writing. Just don't feel I have anything worth sharing...
Found two awkward phrases and the good news is that they are both in the same paragraph:
First awkward phrase: may review without being particular about -which- the author is; who would work better than which in this instance,
second awkward phrase: the only way to find your manuscript -in- by delving into your portfolio; I think the in should be is.

Consider advice I gave you a long time ago--write about your students--their triumphs and failures. Write non-fiction and post anecdotes about classroom situations and teenage angst. Write about being a teacher living with personal doubts and yet still an inspiration to her students. Once you oil the hinges, the gate will swing open AND you'll make time to write.

FS, the site, but especially all the people who took an interest in my writing, helped me immeasurably. There's a whole pile more to say, especially by mediocrity playing the numbers game to garner status that in no ways defines the quality of their work, but that's another story. In the real world, credentials on this site mean NOTHING. It is regarded as a vanity site.

I really think you have it in your mind that I'm Faye? I'm Ingrid. I didn't want to write an essay about writing and quality VS quantity, but I do agree. Just tried to avoid the shock factor for some and spell out what little I've learned.

I don't know why, Faye is smoothiecool. I guess it's just senior moments. LOL So many of these pen names are sre similar I have trouble with flieslikeaneagle and flamingstar, close but no cigar. I love the name Ingrid too! LOL Please forgive an old woman and I shall try to do better. Love Nancy

No problem. As one old fossil to another, we both know it doesn't matter what people call us--as long as they know who they are talking to. I call my grandson by his father's name all the time and have gotten used to him rolling his eyes.
