Superb piece. It makes sense to me, and very often essays on religion or personal beliefs just don't, simply because they are mired in personal opinions that I can't relate to. Here, you simply set the table and allow the reader to examine what is on it without forcing them to taste or swallow. Well done, mon amie. You're so good at this kind of stuff. A winner, I think.

Think who this prompt will attract. Winner? Not likely, but I took offence to the was the prompt was worded. A'A letter to an atheist explaining how he has 'treated' Christians.' Sure was a set-up for a certain tone. The prompt is alive for two months and by then I'll probably forget about it, but at the time I saw it...

You cover a lot of ground in this one. When I saw the prompt, I questioned the wording of, "A letter to atheists and how they have been treating Christians". In fact, it pissed me off. Apparently they haven't had to put up with as many annoying, obnoxious, and judgmental Christians as I have. I have nothing against Christianity, but I find this contest totally inappropriate but your response has given me something to think about. Yes, forgiveness is the route to take but atheists are not the only ones that need to ask for forgiveness. Great work with this one, it's a winner as far as I am concerned.

I also took great offence to the wording of this prompt, but decided that it would likely bring out some nasty one=sided bigotry. After thinking about it for a spell, especially in that foul language was not allowed, I decided to answer in my own 'creative' way. Thanks for the stars. Stay tuned to other entries to see what you terrible athiests will be accused of by the FS community--in the most Christian way, of course. Son of a b...
Thanks for the stars.

Wow, this follows my spiritual life so very well. I do now believe in a higher power, whatever we choose to call him/her, but am not a churchgoing, Bible thumping person. My relationship with God doesn't follow a specific religion, but I do gain great strength from it as well as a desire to be kind to others. Isn't that really what it is all about?
One spag to imaging a handful of words (imagining)
Best wishes in the contest. Take care, my friend~Debbie

I avoided my views on Bible thumping, only alluding to what might follow if I received a packet of verses as a response. Thanks.
