Not much to say or add that cannot be seen. You nailed this, my friend. A speech for Abraham Lincoln. I need not remind you of the power of the write.
My best wishes,

Well written poem that clearly depicts, yes there are problems in today's society, however Old Glory still proudly waves through it all...and she always will.

Amen...because most of Us pledge alliegiance to Her, and the republic for which She stands...knowing its not Her, who have tarnished the image. Appreciate you sir. love Michael

That is so beautiful, my dear friend. Although not American, I agree with all you are saying. In the UK, we are a Christian nation that embraces other religions. But, we do not deny our own faith as some would want. I wrote a poem for Brooke when she was first ill, and I have been keeping up with Miranda through Facebook. She posted a really lovely photo of her and Brooke smiling so happily, it was truly wonderful to see. I will write another poem, but I am going away for two weeks on Tuesday morning without my laptop, so will try to do it before, if not, I will write one when I am away and post it when I come home. I really enjoyed your poem, Michael, it was really lovely. Love you always, my friend. xsx Sandy.

Hi Sandy...-smile-...Yes Maam you are, thank you for embracing that and not embarrassed by that fact, as some in both yours my Country's seem to me today. I read a book about Charles Spurgeon once...drew a portrait of him years ago. Yea there was a time when God was praised not hidden from view and denied His perfect influence over both our nations. Be safe....see you soon. love you Michael

Unfortunately this is no longer a free country. Because for one thing it costs so much to live here. Two many laws and regulations in this country. Although your heart is in the right place, this country is in the wrong place when it comes to being free anymore. I enjoyed reading your poem, it was well written and flowed smoothly... John

Hello Michael: that flag stands for freedom, a brotherhood of all colors, makes and models . . . unfortunately, it isn't always that way. Totally shameful. Abe Lincoln has to be tossing and turning in his grave. Nice to see you here again. Linda

I am so glad she will be back and is getting better. I really miss her. What kind of offering? This is a really good and well-written poem. Flying the flag for Brooke, I like it. Thank you for sharing.

About time I do more than just read your work and smile. :)
Great piece. I agree, we are founded on certain things and we shouldn't forget that or ALTER that either.
Thanks for the mention. That should help greatly. The response has been great. This really is an awesome community. Blessings to you. mikey

Reconciled, this is totally excellent. I'm surprised you have survived having just been over to the political forum to check out the happenings there. *wink*
This freedom of speech gets outright wild sometimes.
Nice job, my friend.

This is a very well written poem, but don't agree, as the Constitution states separation of religion and state. This is not a Christian country. All religions have equality as long as you pay your taxes and abide by the laws, you're in. Maybe I received this the wrong way, but that's how I saw this. Thanks for sharing. Les

It most certainly is Sir...I still live here...-smile- I disgree with you Les...for the first time so far. That you can deny this Country its obvious heritage in truth...is unrealistic...and you could easily proven wrong. Though I do agree their are those who wish it were not so....We are a Christian nation that tolerates every man and religion openly...but WE never consented nor ever will to removal of Our basic foundation. love Michael
