I'm so sorry that your faithful friend has passed. She sounds like a wonderful pet and companion for your whole family. Hope you took some videos of her rounding up chickens. Great little tribute.

I'm so sorry you lost your lovely dog. I can relate to the pain that comes with such a loss. We get so attached to our pets to the point they are loved as if they were our children. Dogs and cats can give back the love we give them and we must give thanks for the brief time we have them. Nancy :)

Dogs and cats sometimes give it back in far greater abundance than biological children. Sometimes they even give it when they haven't received. I'm glad that wasn't the case in our situation. Many thanks, Nancy.

Beautiful and sad at the same time. I know the heart ache of losing your pet to death and aching for their company afterwards. They are another family member you miss when gone. Great tribute to your beloved pet.

A very well-written heartfelt and sad poem about Misty whose life ended after years of suffering. It is not easy to let go of a beloved pet, but sometimes it is better for them to leave this world to end their suffering.

a LOVELY tribute . . . That being said, emotion reeks in this and brought a tear, what good poetry does. Pets become so much a part of our families, thus enabling us to use them in our writing work. Creative, unique, beautifully written.
There is nothing that could be said to improve upon this piece. Good job and Good luck!

Oh, Craig! I am so sorry! "The sheep were left to go their merry way, it's more fun rounding chickens up instead..." will forever be the picture in my mind of your beloved dog.

My sincere condolences, Craig.
If it was about someone else's dog, I would say your touching poem was a pleasure to read. I will add "Misty" to my bookcase. (I regret having no more sixers now.)

"Misty", is an extremely well-written and heart-wrenching piece. Misty, has obviously brought her owner, this talented poet, happiness, companionship and a huge place in his heart. The loss of such a friend is truly tragic. To me, this is a six, but unfortunately I only have fives left. I look forward to seeing your next post.

It is always such a wrench to lose one of our beloved fur babies, but remember Misty
was suffering, and so her time came. Whether in her own time or with veterinary assistance, she isn't suffering any more. Of course you will be sad for a while, but when you recall how she looked at you with puzzled, brown eyes, not understanding why you didn't fix it so she could get up and run around, you will find a measure of comfort. You will meet again one day, Let me assure you of that. But just now, weep if it helps, cuddle your loved ones, tell them how much they mean to you, and share stories of Misty . It does help. God Bless you and keep you and Misty now and always. Yours truly Cass Carlton
