I remember Clint Eastwood from TV Rawhide days. Thanks for your homage poem that cleverly lists his films. Good as Clint is, you are right about John Wayne being the best actor in westerns.

I, too, love Clint Eastwood, especially in 'The Outlaw Josey Wales.' But especially in 'Absolute Power.' There's none other like him. I think he was better than John Wayne. (Don't hurt me for saying that. lol)

Who doesn't love a good Clint Eastwood movie?? One of the best... and still going strong! Dick Clark was said to be America's oldest teenager. I think Clint Eastwood should be America's most long lasting cowboy!

Hello Mystery Poet,
I am a Clint Eastwood fan too. My hubs loves the spahetti westerns and I have begrudgingly have watched with him. So this is a fun poem for me to read. You managed to get a lot into one little poem.
- "(It's) seems a crying shame" - it seems
Best wishes in the contest.

Hi anon, this is a worthy six if I had one. Well written, cleverly weaving in the different films Clint appeared in. Don't knock 'Rawhide' - Clint certainly did not swallow his 'pride' appearing in this series. It is what made him, put him in the limelight LOL'. But it rhymes with Rawhide - this is after all poetry. Second best? It all depends. Well done and good luck in the contest. Dorothy

Tough going to have an error in your very first word! It should be 'It should be...'
Thought you'd made another blue when talking about Clint's dragging voice in 'Paint Your Wagon; too. All I could dredge up from the memory vault was Lee Marvin's dragging of 'Wandering Star', but a google check reveals Clint was in that and that he sang (badly).
Apart from that I enjoyed this commentary on his films. It is always difficult to get good meter when you have specific words (in this case titles) to fit in.
Good luck.

So coool, can't see that you have left anything out. I remember the cute, young Rowdy Yates, prefer to remember him that way. Not a fan of the Fist Full of...flicks, but guess what made them 'good' for me was the 3rd world style (probably way off the mark on calling that) and the music was sure freakin'.
Thanks for the memories. You worked it all into nice rhymes in 1-2, 3-4 schemee.
