Well, this is another well written chapter, Barbara. I do like the story. You want to know whether I see any romance in this story. Well, what I see is a lot of friendship and caring. That is of course good. But then I see a lot of religion. However, I won't argue with the latter as this site has become more and more religious orientated.
So I will be up against most. Sigh! All best, Ulla xx

There is definitely romance going on in this novel; it's just slow in developing, as the two main characters can't seem to admit that it is happening. It's obvious to everyone but them. I'm not sure why they are resisting the thought so much, but it certainly keeps it interesting for us.

There is a lot of denial and white lying going on this story, like all of the denials about the help with the vet bills. But that makes it very endearing.

How could anyone miss the romance! If the post was too long, I was so engrossed with the story, I didn't notice. What is wrong with some people? I do have one question. Pastor Pat seemed to pop up at the dinner table. No mention of him being there before, or did I miss something? Mostly like, I did. Great chapter. Keep 'em coming'.

He came right after Jake, maybe I need to make that a little clearer. Thank you for pointing it out. It's been mentioned before that he's there weekly.

I love the way everyone is standing by Emma. It seem the whole community loves her. Her dog is gradually improving. I'm anxious to find out what Seth's mission is all about. Your story just keeps getting more interesting all along.

I have some concerns about this secret mission Seth is about to embark upon. I also have some concerns for Emma's safety while Seth is occupied away from her side. I truly hope everything turns out okay.

Some concerns are valid. We'll get the answer to the stalker on 11/26/23, if can keep posting on schedule. Thank you for the kind review.

Reminds me of the days when I was in charge of a small church and how the kids would sing and play songs of inspiration. Sound as Pastor Pat has his hands full. Good one Barb.

I don't care for those who say a writing is too long to read. What are they doing on this site, then? it's always refreshing to read your words, especially when you could have written a grim post, but instead wrote a very positive one where people honor God, use their talents and funds for God's work and to help others, and where the pastor and people share a dinner table.
That photo was too sad to comment upon.

Thank you for the encouragement. The person also said it took too long to read to get the money to post their post. That's what they were after.

I could also use the money, but not at the expense of writers who took their time and ability to post their works.

Lots of people have been generous to Emma, but she's deserving. Her song is one way she repays. I'm glad Molly's on the mend. Wouldn't have wanted anything to happen to her. This sounds like my home when I was a child. There was always room for extra people at the dinner table. I'm curious about what Seth has in mind. I hope Seth's mission will involve in finding the stalker who's been causing all the problems for Emma. judi

I will tell you the stalker isn't involved with the mission, but you'll have your answer 11/26/23, if I'm able to post as I think I will be. Thank you for the kind review.

I am very moved by your last line:"After Seth left, Emma watched him drive up the lane. "Dear God, thank you for all you've done for me. Please protect Seth and all the officers taking part in tomorrow's mission. Amen." How many mothers, wives and sisters are having the same ritual everyday

Probably many, especially with our first responders and military. Thank you for the insight.

The scenes in this post seem to illustrate how an ideal community could be. Everyone is ready to help each other out; chipping in to buy Emma a new guitar to replace the one broken in the accident, staying by her side as Seth goes to orchestrate this mysterious 'mission'. The suspense is building a bit here, slowly. I like how you create all these realistic little personalities, in the pastor, in the lady who asks Seth for a dance at the fundraiser, that's what makes the scene work. We kind of get an idea of how Emma and Seth will fit into this congregation and community. But the clouds seem to be gathering as Seth suggests this mission could get dangerous. We await your next chapter. estory
