This piece is very thought provoking. I read this poem a few times and really tried to grasp what the author is trying to convey. I thought about what trials and tribulations my own husband has been through in his life that might make him feel his soul is denied or the heart sacrificed to the misunderstanding of actions. Lack of self preservation? Either this deals with evolutionary psychology and the fact that males are misunderstood with multiple partners in mating or lack of self preservation in being denied in some way shape or form in love. Maybe I don't understand what good is man? I would like to understand more.

Well the answer to that question is clearly none. It is not always easy to know what the right things are anymore in this strange new world. But being a man isn't what it used to be. Thoughtful piece.

An excellent question that not many ask today in sincerity or they would not self-mutilate their flesh in defiance of the unconditional love of the Almighty, wishing to be something other than what they were created or as created to be.
