I simply cannot imagine living through something like the blitz. I imagine a great many of these people suffered from PTSD even though we didn't call it that then. No doubt there were nightmares for years to come.

A concise narrative poem of the city of London during WWll giving visuals clearly and keenly. It was a terrible period in History.
The only thing I see is that God is in caps but father is not though Jesus refers to God as His Father, Our Father.

The terse shortness of these lines adds to their dramatic impact. You give us a glimpse of the continuous stark terror of night after night in the blitz. The picture you have chosen is, in itself, worth a thousand words.

A sad poem beautifully written. The scenes are vivid and touch the heart. That was such a sad and difficult time and it is good to remember, in the hope it will not be repeated. Well done on many counts. Thank you for sharing this.

Hi Deepwater, a wonderful tribute to the happenings during the war. Nowadays we don't appreciate the deep turmoil that reigned during those times. Your life was not your own and most times you just worried about getting something to eat and staying away from where the bombs dropped. Well penned. I enjoyed. luv jada

Another gem added to your book, perfect poem and form. It tells a story a true one as mentioned in the authors note. Beautifully written as all previous ones.

This speaks, in a simple way, of what life must have been compressed into during WWII for those living in London. To survive until tomorrow was the task at hand. I feel you have brought forth that true feeling in your poem. Unfortunately only 6 stars are available, for I feel this deserves more. Later, Jim

There is a strong feeling of comfort expressed from the title itself - "We Survive". A big lift in the heart, for having God's presence during this hardest time ever.
Your intro is a perfect beginning to grasp what's really the picture inside the poem. Your words are well penned to able to describe the eventful difficulties. Great imagery in the words and language of your write. I find this an excellently written poem on the subject of war and history. Thanks for sharing.} Lin

I found this to be a well written free verse poem. It speaks to me of lessons not learned, as sadly, children are living the same hell today in places like Syria and Palestine. Will it ever end? AJ.

I very much like how you presented this...Deserving top honors, so a virtual six for you is all tonight that I can render.....War is terrible for everyone, though, believe for especially little people (children)....Just wrote a short free verse, the other day & it is posted..... This with a child's picture in the middle of a terrible conflict. And, it's about how corrupt leaders dictate & choose their victims, & how innocent people are held captive while their fate is what these leaders decide, without regret or remorse..
