Hi!

This is a very thoughtful and well-crafted poem! I loved the circle of life ending. The countdown certainly inspired anticipation as each acorn fell to the ground. Most original and very creative! Wishing you well ...

What a smile this brought to my face. These are the kind of poems I would love to read to my grandchildren. You're so clever the way you dispense with each one. My favorite is the one about eviction.

Cute and fun rhymed poem that any child would love to listen to, and adults would love to recite.
Excellent imagery and great creativity.
Well done.

Terrific take off on the old, "Ten Little Indians." I did one once on ten little poets about a year ago. I might do one sometime on ten little coat hangers, or maybe ten little bottles of shocking pink nail polish. The possibilities are endless.

Thank you, Jack - yep, I've done several, and it's always fun to come up with a new thing to count down :-) Brooke

These ever-diminishing, personified acorns can speak, and as number ten proves, they feel chills and breezes, and, like most living creatures on this earth, try to prolong their lives as long as possible.

Kinda sad how the last one seemed to give in once he/she had no friends around.

C'est la vie!

Cheers,
DW

Another delightful counting poem for children Brooke and this one with a wonderful lesson in the end. Very nice artwork and good abcb rhyme. As always, as joy to read.

As always, your poems are an absolute delight to read. I've been in the woods seeking solace a great bit these past few weeks, and did enjoy the sounds of acorns falling and squirrel's frolicking about.
I can envision myself reading this one to our great-granddaughter with 10 acorns in hand, she's three and loves her numbers.
Smiles and Hugs,
Teresa

A charming and somewhat more complex take on the old 'ten green bottles' folk song with a completely different rhythmic structure to the original. Gentle abcb rhyme throughout, and some delightful images about the fate of the acorns. Love the personification of the ill-fated acorns and utlimately, the beginning of a new cycle, courtesy of the squirrel - :) DJ

A nice colour drawing of a squirrel with an appropriate grass green background, goes nicely with your poem.

Interesting and varied, with verse ten going down to one, and the fate of each acorn described. This will I'm sure grab the attention of small children learning to count.

Nice poem. :) Mel.
