Like many I remember that day as if it were yesterday. I lost many friends on 9/11, NYC was my home town. And being in the military I was not able to leave and help with the search and rescue. Worse, I couldn't get a hold of my family members that worked there.
You captured the pain of a nation and a people beautifully, well done. May your words remind us never to forget those we lost, and never forget what we are still fighting against.
Thank you for sharing,
Courtney

This is a great patriotic poem that remembers 9/11. I can never get those images out of my mind. Your poem brought them back to me. You next show our Country's resolve. The terrorists bent but cannot break us. Our Country will never fall to them. Thank you for sharing and caring. I wish you success in the contest.

This is indeed a fantastic poem come song that the author has created with this piece of work. I entered a similar contest as well, but I didn't do so well at it. I hope you have better luck than I did and well done on the subject. America is certainly flexible and strong enough to withstand everything thrown at it. Well.

This is a well written poem with great content and theme. It's true 9/11 changed Americans because we realized terror can happen on our own soil, but it also awakened us to the danger that we are vulnerable and hopefully did unite us, as you say. Poem is clear and rhyming is wonderful. Marilyn

Your poem rhymes well. I hope you're right and that we are strong. The violence in the streets of our cities is beginning to become a problem that needs to be addressed.

The first verse is shockingly heartbreaking just as it should be the shock forces me to read on and I find the spirit of USA FLYING PROUD
Liberty is something that we also keep in hearts and so many have had that ripped away by loss and fear
It must be avenged

This poem brings back all of the emotion that we should never forget we felt. It did indeed change our nation as it did my own life. Thank you for a superior poem.

One of the most inspirational pieces of work I've read. You have done a magnificent job of expressing how we all felt on that day and the days that followed. I can find nothing I would change! I am a fan.

EXCEPTIONAL!! I could give this nothing less than 6stars. Beautifully written! Sometimes, it seems people have forgotten that horrible day. Your poem is a beautiful memorial to the people who lost their lives that day, the soldiers who are still fighting to protect us from further attacks, and our strong, free country. I cannot imagine living anywhere else! The title was perfect and the picture definitely added beauty and elegance to your words. I look forward to reading more of your writings. God bless :)
