This is a splendid joke, mixing up the Spanish honorary title Don with the common abbrevition of the given name Donald. I found it doubly amusing that this poem is set in a nautical scene.
The hero of the Bolitho novels of English author, now deceased, Alexander Kent (Douglas Reeman) comes up against a barbary coast pirate whose galley is named "Cacafuego" in one of his stories.
I think this is a wonderful nickname for Don Trompetto.

Thanks very much, PG. I think it makes a great name for a kitchen too. Wonder if they served a really hot curry? Greatly appreciated. Craig

This is a very funny political satire, Craig, that goes beautifully with the word "cacafuego". Luv this word! :) To write humor is not easy. You had me laughing the whole way through. Hopefully none of your readers will take offense to what was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, and just a humorous poke at the times that we now live in.
This is very well written. Great choice of artwork. Excellent rhyming. Sixth star for being clever and for how entertaining this write is. Great job, Craig! ~~ Connie

Oh. let them take offence. I take offence at having to look at this orange guy every time I turn my TV on - let them pay for their actions! ;-)
Thanks so much for the wonderful review, and the great generosity with the ratings, Connie. Much appreciated :)

Woah!
Your satirical gem almost made me choke on my mornng coffee! "Cacafuego" is a gem of a word to characterize your, uhm... "pirate." Something tells me you had one heck of a rollicking time writing this piece. I appreciate its satire, humor, and flow. Well done, matey!

This guy really thinks highly of himself. He probably is only have as brave as he thinks he is. He seems to be a bigot and to mistreat women.
Humorous way to describe a pirate
Keep writing

Thanks very much, Joan. He's not much of a pirate, his crew keep resigning around him. Back in the day, he'd have made them walk the plank. Cheers, Craig

You're welcome, Craig. The crew resigning should have been a warning to change his ways. But men like him don't often heed warnings.

Now I know the derivation of the expression "to cack your pants"! This one was a bit of a gift compared with some of the words you've had to deal with. Good to have the perfect subject; perhaps not so good that he's in charge!

Oh yes, it took me all of 0.3 nanoseconds after I saw the word to know what the topic would be. I'd gladly sacrifice having great material for satirical verse if he would just go away. Many thanks, Tony. Craig

A very well-written poem about the word Cacafuego, you tell the story in a fun and humorous way and will be remembered for a while. Every one of us has a little bragging in us.

you did it again Craig
beautiful to read and expressive and spurtling with fire.
strangely in hebrew also caca means shit, and I translated it as
shit on fire.
quite metaphorically describes our Donald duck.
Duck is for run for cover when he opens his mouth.
it's like aladin's cave.
you never know what treasures will sparktle at you.
sparktle - sparkle and spittle at once. :-))Z.

You've been very generous, my friend, and I'm astounded you still have any of those shiny things left this far into the week! :)
Sadly, it is just far too easy to make jokes at this guy's expense. He just makes it too easy.
Many, many thanks again -

Quite clever, and keeping words alive. Interesting reference to the Donald. As far as I can tell, people either love him or hate him. I am concerned online media has no morals and creates thrones for those who would have been nothing but a joke not too long ago. Seems you have a healthy perspective on things and are trying to make America Great Again - but not in the Trumpoian sense, Nice work!

Yes, isn't it funny - that's his catch cry, and yet every action and every word seems to be heading in the opposite direction. America has survived a lot, and it will survive him. Many thanks for the kind review :) Craig

HaHaHa!... What a neat poem!... I Like IT!
I like the gist of it... Didn't see any 'glitches'...
Flows along nicely... Got a good rhyme to it...
My compliments!
