You have stated your excuse excellently. You have not said it, but I hope you have visited with a physician. I wouldn't even go shopping; your friends seem to care for you, let them do the shopping. Buy a couple of quarts of chile verde soup with chicken and avocado. Stay in bed.
You have a typo in the next to last word of your essay, "follen" instead of fallen.

It has been over 100* for the last 16 days with a cool 98 degrees thrown in. Now we are back to over 100--105* Friday.
