This challenge has brought out some beautiful winter work, and this a finer one among them. Love the socks in toes! I feel the chilly outdoors and the cozy inside and the idea of snuggling with the spouse! xoxo

Enjoyed your fun Cole's Rhythm poem! You chose very good rhymes and the advice to keep "socks on toes" is very important. I have socks on!
"keeping matches dryer" (drier) A "dryer" is the appliance. "Drier" is the comparative form of the adjective, "dry."

This sounds very cosy. It was 80 here today. I think we have had 3 days of colder weather in Cen. FL. ={ I prefer my winters much cooler. This is a fun poem and it even made me feel cold for a moment. =]

Twenty below is no fun but is part of our normal sometimes. I guess this is a call for preparing for calamity. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

I have read quite a few of these Cole Rhythms and it is a terrific form. You've got some great lines in here, J and some most innovative rhymes too and cute repeating line.
A pleasure to read and review. :)

Hi JLR, I really like your Cole's Rythm poem. I'm not sure where you live that it's that cold... but I'm cold enough here in Southern New England... thanks... but no thanks! :) I like the progression and finally getting to snuggle down with your spouse. :)

Susan, thank you, yes New England is bad enough.

I enjoyed your challenge poem, JLR. Your picture is a great choice. Your words flow well with great imagery. Your repeated phrase was fun to read in each verse. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan

Yes, it can be very cold during the winter months. I love the old-fashioned feel of your poem in particular. It seems to portray a time when sitting by the wood fire and cuddling up warm and cozy to a loved one might be a special memory indeed.
I have no idea how to improve this as you have a hearty ser of rules. Nice work!

What a cozy atmosphere you created with this poem! I've never seen this rhyme scheme before and I will definitely be using it for my future poetry as I am a sucker for repetition! Thank you for sharing!
