This is a good country song that could be a hymn. It is about the man who
knows our sould better than we know His. But we can still accept his love because He will always love us. That is Jesus, of course.
Good luck in the contest.

Thank you Joan, but this is actually a song for someone who has helped me with my walk with Jesus. It could have been about Jesus except for the one part that I say that we may never meet face to face, and I sure hope I do meet him that way. However it comes so close to walk with Jesus. Last year we lost our pastor to covid, who was so very instrumental in our marriage and faith. Now since Covid we just don't feel safe going back to Church yet so I have some virtual friends who mean the world to us, since the loss of our pastor. Thanks again for your kind review and as always lovely words, my friend!

You're welcome. I am sorry to hear of your and your congregation's loss. I have been going to church since a month after they reopened. And I am still the only one in my immediate family that hasn't had covid. I pray that covid ends or they find some shot that works on all strains.

My feeling as I read this piece was not of a country song, but rather of a cloistered nun ruminating on her savior. It is a nice rhyming poem, and it flows well. The emotions of the writer plays through, however to me it is a religious hymn, not a country song. Though I will grant some country songs have a religious tinge, but this one does not work for me.

Thanks so much for reading my song, as it isn't at all about Jesus, rather about someone who has walked in faith and fellowship with me. However as much as I have heard many country songs of faith, it is true, I am a poet not a song writer. So I do appreciate your kind review on the other parts. Thank you so much for that my friend.

When we read, the reader puts his own background in his read. Sorry I misinterpreted your piece.

This is a beautifully written country song love your chorus. In a place where there's no time or space
The soul's what I see; there is no face
This feeling I have won't soon depart
Because I don't have a cheating heart.Nice photo to compliment your words. Good luck in the contest.

This is a good lyric to a country song entry. The rhyme scheme is consistent. The visual fits perfectly. I like the text being large enough to read. I like you put the heading for the choruses, but headings for the verses would also be good. It seems one would sing two verses before getting to the chorus in some spots and one verse before the chorus in other spots. That being consistent would make it seem more like a real song. Good luck in the contest. You have a good entry.

Thanks Sandra. I never did this before, so do you think the chorus should be after each verse or that I should write the words verse before each verse. I just want to make sure I understand before I do it because I believe you are right, but want to make sure I understand correctly. And thanks so much
-
In one that I read that was well done he or she had it set-up the following way:
Verse 1
Chorus
Verse 2
Chorus. You could also do 2 verses before repeating the chorus. Whatever, you do be consistent because songs follow a consistent pattern. I would also make the headings bold or in italics, so they stand out.
-
Yes, I figured it out and should have understood the first time. Thanks Sweetheart as I think it looks much better now
-
Please be honest and tell me if you think I should have had more chorus. And did I mention how grateful I am to your feedback?
-
To make it consistent, you need one more chorus between verse 2 and 3. It looks better already. I like you put the headings in parentheses. Nominate me for reviewing. That's what's typically done if someone helps to make your poem/entry better. Thanks!
-
I am one step ahead of you on that nomination idea my friend. I just have to wait for the first of the month. And thank you again so much my dear friend as like I said, not a stranger to writing, just song writing.

You had more nerve than me. I just took a hard pass, LOL

Lol, I think I am safe since this is about a man who has helped me with my fellowship since my immune system is not good, we still haven't been back to Church since covid, but thankfully can watch it on tv. However we still need that fellowship that keeps us looking in the right direction. But lol, it is kind of a tease for everyone else; after all it is a country song. 😊
