You have written this poem from a man's point of view shared by a woman who was the object of his love/passions. Excellent rhyme, rhythm, a little varied in meter but the verses play out well - an easy flow. I don't think I could ever want to ride a bull either.

Hi bmwhsd, I thoroughly enjoyed reading these brilliant lyrics, They are more than lyrics though, in the words of the old Johnny Tilletson song they are 'Poetry in Motion'!
Great rhyming, brilliant rhythm and a wonderful flow serve to lift this above the rest my friend.

I did like that. I have always been fascinated by rodeos as well. Being a horse rider much of my life, I wouldn't even contemplate it. I admire those who does though. Your poem brought it very much alive. ulla

You realize of course, the timely nature of this, given the movie recently released. When I started reading, I had to think you had just walked out of the theater! And I love this story...sad, but beautifully put together...never did my interest wax from the page. I think the rhyme is good. It does remind me a bit of a country song.

Thanks for the compliment. Three years ago when I originally wrote these lyrics they were written as Country music lyrics. So, appreciate your comments.

AWESOME. This is so beautiful, and although about a cowboy it could be about anyone and their lost love. I adore the imagery. I used to work at a truck stop where many drivers wore big belt buckles so it is a tongue in cheek smile on my face.
