It is nice to know that we can look upon the past finding its message and applying it to today. Inspirational and gives hope. Brilliant.

Thanks foxangie123 appreciate your wonderful review. I hope you get to read and hear the carols. They should work on Windows media player if you have trouble hearing them they are also on a web site I run for our church.
-
I shall. Thank you Hun.

I was confused by your essay until I read at the top that it is a chapter from a book. Being an Atheist, any comments I have on the content are of zero interest to the overwhelmingly religious thinking of 99% of the participants on this site.

Very good, informative prologue that tells your main reason for putting together the Christmas carols. I'm moving on to the first one.
Peace!

Thanks mate are you a PC person or Apple mac? Do you have a suitable Media player to hear the music? I can give you a link to a page on the church web site I run that has the carols on it I usually only get the page going from first December on the web site but can give you the Link if needed. Thinking I should make another Carols page on my own web site before Christmas and may do that.

Hey Geoff, I'm a PC person. I'll look on my desktop to see if I've got what I need...

I hope this will give us some new and different perspectives.
As time goes by, the message and essence of Christmas has changed and still changing. Nowadays, Christmas is too commercialized and the focus seems to be in gift-giving and party-like celebrations.
The messages of sacrifice and redemption seem to have been forgotten.

Your explanation of the reason behind your "carols" makes me want to read them for sure. I have not run across any yet. Never heard of "Macquarie" - in the states?

Macquarie University is a much bigger organization these days than it was when I worked there and wrote most of these carols in the 70's. It is the second youngest University in our State of NSW in Australia. I used to live about 5 minutes away from it.Worked there for 4 years. In my autobiography there is more detail on that time. Thanks for coming by.

Hi sankey, I too agree with your message that the true meaning of christmas has sadly disappeared, even in some of our churches today the emphasis seems to be on the fact that the 3 wise men were bearing gifts, not that they were there to see baby Jesus.

Eric actually and they often get it wrong that the wise ma=en came when Jesus was a babe. If you check it out he was approximately 2 years old when the Wise men visited him thanks for coming by hope you will carry on through the carols.

Yes I forgot that my friend

The prologue does indicate the essence of what you intend to portray. I get the impression that I will see something different in your writings. However, I felt it's much too short for a book or work that encompasses many pages and an ocean of thoughts.

Are you saying I need to add more to the Introduction? I would be happy to do that if you think it worthwhile. Hope you will check out my Carols that follow thanks.
