your few words allow the reader to see and feel that if we can't look up to our ancestors an acknowledge their achievement
are our achievements worthy for our descendants
great message to make one think about
cheers Smoothiecool

These few words eloquently asks a very good question that I believe anyone could benefit from asking themselves. I imagine that many people, if they answer honestly, would not like the answer they come up with.

this is very well written, deepwater, you did an excellent job writing this poem about the way pride needs to be given for all achievements so each generation can be proud instead of ashamed

you have a good point here! have you heard the indian proverb: "we do not inherit the world from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children". children are our future, no matter if it is a cliche.
thank you for sharing!

Hi Deep.
This is a worthy question to ask in a poem?
Perhaps it is one of those questions that answers itself. If you don't care about the past, the future won't care about you.
Since the poem deals with symmetry, perhaps the lay out of the poem should reflect that symmetry.
Cheers,
Laurie Keim

If no pride was taken in the achievements of our ancestors,
Will your achievements be worthy to be remembered by your descendants? - My answer is no. For me, some things achieved by force or by stepping on to someone is worthy to be forgotten.
As Napoleon Hill said, "Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness."

You ask a very difficult question with this strong contest entry. It is a question that one that should be asked. Good luck with the contest.
