there are good imageries for your questions. Also could pertain to females, or just humans in general. Being denied is deflating, takes away all ambition for sure. We all need a purpose to be at our best.

I didn't really know, so I consulted Wiki. Self preservation-behavior that ensures survival of a organism- which is living-pain or fear. Other than sexual Wiki mention about the ego.
When we use reasoning, we make wise choices but when we go at something on an impulse then we have to suffer the consequences. In other words, get the facts first.
It is very good and for the people who major in philosophy, it is probably great. I like it, it gave my mind a challenge.

I enjoyed reading your poem and it caused me to reflect on it's meaning. I, of course, had to put in a context that I understand. I teach in an extremely low income school, and most of my students, I teach first grade, have no male role model in their lives. They may have males, but not appropriate male role models.

I feel you express much of what most people feel in our limited celebrity laden world. When can a single voice be heard and when can any man feel that he indeed matters? So my question, I guess is more, can we remain true to ourselves and just the world run pass us or is it more important to be accepted. Sometimes we cannot do both. (Just my reflection on your piece.)
