Hi Steve,
This is quite a tongue twister, lol. I read a couple other postings using this writing challenge and yours is the best by far.
Kids love nonsense and your creative cast of characters is sure to make them laugh.
You know what? I think I'd like to party at that tavern. Those question are much easier to answer than political ones.
This was a total blast to read. I particularly loved: try saying that thrice and your tongue'll go gnarly AND my tutu's too tight. LOL
Hugs,
Lou

Lou, thanks so much for the warm review and the six shiny stars.
yes, it was a lot of fun to write. Did you read all the other entries - there is one other excellent one that is ahead of me in the voting.
. You should know that there are three other Gobbledegooks poems - they are scattered around my portfolio. I hope by tonight they will all be collected into one book to make them easier to find.

This is phantasmegorical. It's the only word that's appropriate. An alliteration bonanza, not a single one forced. The readers must all be goobledegookians because they're all excited, enraptured, entranced and enthralled. I haven't had this much fun since I last went Figberry Folly's Fiesta of Fun. And all rhymed beautifully to boot.
Exceptional, what more can I say.

What fun this is, Steve. Terrific words and rhyme that
would get a lot of giggles from kids, I'm sure. Great use of
alliteration too.
Funny images (would make a great picture book, by the way)
and it goes without saying the meter is perfect for this kind of
hilarity. Great job and yes, I think this should win "hands down"

Hands down? Don't think so. Second place looks to be my lot...
Thanks for the great review and the six star rating. I now have four Gobbledegooks poems - I can see each of them as being a onderful picture book - I just need to get off my butt and get them to a publisher if I had any clue how to do that.

You could get an agent which might save a lot of time, as they would know what publishers are accepting this type of manuscript. Or...you could send your ms directly to publishers once you've done the research to find out if they are accepting unsolicited manuscripts and what type. etc. they take a very long time to get back to you and some don't even bother sending rejections anymore.
They just say if you don't hear back in 6 months or so...consider it rejected.
This series of yours is so good, I would think an agent would be happy to represent you. I wish you luck. Nancy

So can I show my ignorance even more and ask where I would find an agent?
-
I googled literary agents in NZ and saw some that looked promising. Also there is an author society there that may be of help
-
Check them out and best of luck. Nancy

Your first two stanzas remind me for some reason of being stuck at Chuck E. Cheese's with my kids. Your poem does what every great kid's poem does- dazzles with alliterative wizardry and word invention. "Phantasmegorical/historical"- awesome rhyme. You also do not make the mistake of dumbing it down for kids. Excellent entry! Good luck.

I absolutely love it. In writing we are the creators of either comedy, tragedy and inventors of lands and whatever we wish. There is an enormous amount of untapped energy that lies within a poet's mind.

This is without a doubt the winner Steve. You do have a way with made up words I must say! This is a delightful poem and I enjoyed every line. The alliteration is fantastic and the imagery inspiring! Great rhyme and meter not that any child would care about that! Well done my friend. :<) Nancy

Ah, Dr. Seuss swallows Lewis Carroll who'd just eaten a Nonsensical Thesaurus! I can't explain it any other way.
This is terrific Steve, though I'll bet your spell-check is having seizures.
Kids will love this.
Best of luck.
Peace, Lee
While out in the market-place, those with credentials
Sell 'Spells for Beginners' and 'Cauldron Essentials'--I love it when the rhymes are challenging.

The rhyming in this poem is awesome. Had to read last line in stanza seven to get the rhythm, but that was my fault. Great tongue-twister.
