I have never heard of a money tree. I hope it produces good fruit! Well chosen words and witty message. Good luck in the contest. Faye

Hello Faye, this is not for a contest, I wrote it for fun. I like writing haikus. I had my money tree for a long time and it is very easy to care for. I don't know about the money part though, LOL Thank you :)

Well I must thank the writer for teaching how to plant and maintain a lovely green tree that calls itself money. Mine all dried up, rotted-died, and fell to the left where it stunk like hell and still does! Great photo and creative write. HIS GRAYNESS

LOL I know what you mean. I killed my share of trees but I finally found plants that are easy to grow. Money tree is one of them. I think I told you before but I have to say it again, I love your pen name. LOL
Thank you so much for the review.

Hi Gypsy Rose: a couple years ago, I was honored in an international poets book and my girlfriend began calling me Sir Vance, then she Came up with His Grayness so I just caved in...She's a hoot!! Thanks, Vance

This poem is "well-rooted" in the Japanese tradition. The 5-7-5 format and the strong linkage between lines one and two make it compliant to those criteria. The satori-line is slightly non-traditional, but that is a good thing to this critic.

Nice haiku and great instructions to take care of a bamboo- money tree plant. I spoiled several ones and after reading you I will try again.
"leaning to the right", I hope is not a political remark...lol
