After reading 'Hawk Moths', I find that it meets the requirements of the contest and makes a good entry.
This poem and the picture tells the reader that moths love to feed on flowers.
You give a good description.
Best of luck to you in the contest.
Thanks for sharing your Free Verse Poetry.
Good luck with your future writing.

Perfect descriptions.
There we have our Don Juan incarnate
As reckless as ever, drawn to that
mesmerising glittler of the light
Disregarding the heat, the alluring heat
That will be the death.
Wish I had a six!

Hello, again--I could not pass up your intriguing title and picture selection. I was rewarded with alliteration and exquisite imagery. Your "sequined, velvet dress of night" is quite memorable, and your appeal to our senses of smell and sight is very effective. Best wishes in the Free Verse contest- Joan

Here where I live, we call these feisty, fluttering creatures hummingbird moths, Tony.
Yours is a beautifully well rendered free verse, rife with subtle alliteration, vivid imagery, and a very unique subject.
I wish you all the best...

Hey, Tony, hi. Another fantastic piece of poetic art, friend. Thank you for introducing me to a new word I didn't know. "Sequine." I hope you do well in the contest with this great entry. I don't have any suggestions that could possibly make this any better. You found the perfect picture to accompany it. Have a great weekend.

Oh you had me with jasmine and the fragrance it gives, all the way to moonlit lace. Excellent free verse and the descriptions were magnificent.

If the image you've used is that of a hawk moth, then we have something that looks quite similar that graces our flower beds at dusk and into the early evening during the hottest days of summer. Ours are called hummingbird moths... or perhaps that's just what my neighbourhood calls them! They hover, and almost seem inquisitive at times as they'll come up quite close to a person if they remain still. And, they seem to quite favour the colour red.
A lovely descriptive free-verse, Tony. Best wishes for the contest,

Very many thanks for your very kind review, Christina. Yes, I gather that they are also called hummingbird moths in some parts of America. What an appropriate name for them. Tony
