I like your message in this poem and the poem is well written giving the readers something to ponder with the questions.

I don't think we will ever learn from the past. As we go through life we hope we won't see war again, fighting again, riots again....I could go on. But do we learn. I don't think so. I posted something on the hollocaust recently and someone mentioned in their review that maybe some of it was happening again. Lots of questions in your poem and it really made me think. Beautifully written and one that really gets you thinking. Lived it. Genya

Hey gw,
I was struck by an old saying as I read this piece, that any lesson in life forgotten, is doomed to be repeated. Truth seems to have evolved into the belief of whomever is in control, and the thought of enlightenment, simply an idea we read about in poems. Our future now resides behind a smoke screen of lies and half-truths. How is one to judge when the facts are so obscured?
I, personally, believe people are so distracted with their own misconceptions about what's truly important in life that they're missing the big picture. Time to turn off the TV and refocus on the challenges and solutions we, as a society, are faced with... and we better wake up quickly! My feeling is that time is getting short.
Nice job projecting and delivering this sobering thought. Have a great weekend, Bill

I like the rhyming couplets and the questions you ask. I think this causes the reader to develop their own thought about your words and interpret them for themselves. Nicely done.

There are consequences for all decisions. When spouses cheat on their husbands or wives, the trust and marriage vows are injured. the relationship is forever changed. The betrayals scars the hearts and heartache must be lived through. Wisdom may or may not be gained. What is to happen depends on the couple. Will they choose honor or continue to play mind games? Thanks

This is a poem of questioning the past and how it will make change for the future. Attempting to find some wisdom in what has gone before. To make tomorrow a better place for all. I enjoyed reading this well written poetic voice... John

A beautiful thought provoking poem. The feelings of loss are depicted so effectively in the poem. what I like the most about it is the optimistic end...every cloud has a silver lining.

I would say this poem is about love lost. This poem flows well and the words you chose showed strong emotion. The following lines are wonderful and describe exactly the feeling!
Discarded vows, for greener promised lands,
Distrust and heartache, are things we live through,
What of the mind games, the trials, the truths?
Values of honor, scarred deep on my heart,
My trust is the nightmare, that played us a-part,

To deepwater,
An in depth study into the spirit that has showed signs of inattentive and unfaithfulness demeanor. Where communications between a couple have frayed and become isolated to each other.
