A good steady rhythm and rhym scheme of rhyming couplets. You consistently manage to turn out a quality produduct with amazing regularity. I just wish sometimes you'd try to be a little more adventurous.

An excellent "As I reflect" poem :-)

I wonder what the turning point. . .
the fulcrum is,
where we begin to comprehend
just how distracting
our life's been;

the obsession
with possession
the need to climb
runged ladders of success,
the clamor of
disjointed love. . .
the howl
of hunger's
urgency.

I only know
I'm glad I've grown
to see beyond horizon -

to look within
instead.

Great thoughts, Roy. It is so true that so many of the dreams of our youth were mere vanity and were not worth pursuing. It takes a years to see the real path that lies before us, and yet some never find it. Excellent thoughts so well written in this wonderful poem.

This is a wonderful poem and the end line, 'It's only love that makes one whole,' is a very fitting way to end this poem. It flows and fades at the end which I love. Thank you for sharing.

I like your poem, especially your last paragraph. I agree with your message, it would not be wise to gain the world and lose your soul. Those are biblical words. Your poem flows and rhymes well and I enjoyed reading it.
