First of all, I have to say I love your title, and the subject is powerful. You've penned, in a very professional way, an accurate account of feelings one of our soldiers on leave may have. Great job with the meter and flow as well!

The farmers deserve this tribute to them for growing food for all of us and so many have died out in the fields through storms or accidents and not made it back home. It's nice to know when the farmer has made his peace with God though. Wonderful poem.

I enjoyed your free verse with random rhymes. I especially admired your "anchor" metaphor and "fields" personification. Your final lines are quite powerful as well.

Field of stone seems to have more than one meaning here. I hate the wars and what that means for families, especially when you never see that soldier alive again. Well done.

deepwater,
Well chosen theme. The flow was nice. Very descriptive and created impressions that are very vivid and understandable.
It is completely error free.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,

deepwater: He is getting ever closer -- it's in the air, it's in the heart -- it's everywhere if you but look.
Wonderfully written, and and so insightful. Judi

Hello deepwater
I ask myself more then once why do we have to at times walk on a field of unwanted stones
You have expressed your thought with deep emotion.
Like your rhyming.
