Thank you for sharing this fantastically written biographical story, Janilou. You expressed your emotion wonderfully. Superb imagery, especially in these two paragraphs:
They say time heals all wounds, but it isn't true ...
Ironic, don't you think? In the end, your friendship now may be the only thing that can ease my pain.
It was not time but friendship that had eased your pain. Very heartwrenching.
Warmest wishes,

What a beautiful story dedicated to your friend. With all the tumult she is going through, she really is so lucky to have you as a friend once again. i am so glad that you two still have time to renew your relationship. i will keep her in my prayers.

You did a wonderful job describing the emotion you felt. Your writing was so intense that I felt the pain myself. That's good writing! I hope your friendship can be mended on both sides.

You must be a saint. If she did that to me and I got news she had cancer, I'd be happy. I liked how the beginning drew me in, and just as I was about to stop reading, I came to the abuse part and it got interesting again. Guess it's unfortunate that memoir is based on true life events. Very heart felt. It was a surprise ending of loving kindness. Time just buries old wounds.

wow, that's all I can say. Wow. the writing is grammatically correct. I didn't find any spelling errors either. The subject is deep. You lead the reader through with ease. This piece has left me speechless.

This is heartwrenching. We never know what's going to happen. Its hard, so very hard getting over a betrayal such as the one you went through, but love conquers all. I pray you and your friend will both be helped in this circumstance by the forgiveness. "Cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you." Leigh Ann Fine

Forgiveness is fine--it heals you but betrayal is a hard nut to crack. Don't be too hard on yourself, not until you know all there is to know--
lots to think oabout here,

Hello Dear Jan.
This emotional and intriguing write is even a bit painful to read. It is beautifully written, and begs us to re-think how we feel about things. What is it that is really important to me in life, I ask. You have bravely stretched out your hand, so please do not beat yourself up for human kinds of feelings in the past. Go forward in hope and faith.
Hugs. Fondly, Rebecca

Wow, a greatly written story about a friend that you desided to hate when she married your ex-husband and tries to stay friends, and then she gets cancer. Then you try to make up with her.

I give you six stars for this because of your honesty and the wonderful way you told your story. Many of us have been stabbed in the back, but forgiveness is the answer to ease the pain. I know, I have been there, have forgiven and even though there are some regrets, that person is your friend, that doesn't change.
Peace, Joan
