This is a wonderfully intriguing question. Just what kind of legacy are we leaviing for those who will follow in our footsteps? What questions will they ask concerning our motivations? Will they consider us stupid, selfish, self centered, cowardly, naive or all of the above?

Extremely colorful and beautiful art work that really captures the beautiful of the Native American. I loved the poem also for its meaningful content.

Your philosophical wit shines through. Very thought-provoking and reflective on how one should live his or her life. The brevity of your poem adds to the message which needs no additional embellishment.

I sure enjoy your put-a-person-to-thinking type poems. Although I'm new to the many styles and structures of poetry, my ears and eyes choose those that touch and entertain me. Great job. :-)

There are no truer words written as those you have well stated.
I come from blue collar backgrounds. German and Irish immigrants who worked hard. Both my grandfathers passed away by the time I was 7. From looking back through my ancestors, I have learned very much. My father passed away in '74 and he was my best friend and mentor.
My best friend and my son are also best friends. Before john and his wife moved to china, he told me how proud jimmy is of me. That I have been there for all of his life, but more important is what I had accomplished from hard work and having a positive attitude.
His feelings about me is more than I can ever ask for or expect.
This is such a thought provoking piece of poetry that is so well done,,,,,,,,Jim

I try to read this and my mind automatically slides the question mark to the end of the fourth line. Am I misled?
A plain and simple question, it seems to me. Excellent.

Interesting and quite thought provoking. You convey a ponderous message in a few well chosen words. Nicely done and I thank you so much for sharing this with me.

If no pride was taken in the achievements
Of our ancestors,
Will your achievements be worthy?
To be remembered by your descendants
Verrry insightful message here! Never thought of it that way. Thanks for the enlightenment, very well expressed. :)
