deepwater, this poem has such depth of feeling and excellent phrasing. Not one clichéd phrase, all very original and superbly done as in The beast we have tempered today, and all young lost hope we bury their shells. Moving and powerful. :0 GracieAnn

Wonderful recap of wastefulness of human and material resources in executing senseless wars. Unfortunately, man never learned or has bluntly refused to show remorse for this senselessness.

From reports I've read and excerpts from young soldier's diaries, war in the trenches in the first wold war, were absolutely horrific, beyond all imagination, if the men weren't killed their lives were affectively ruined anyway! Well written, in articulate, descriptively expressed, and beautifully penned! Well done, blessings, Roy.

This reminds me of a quote about a scene in Nam-all we did was stay there and die. This brings out the dismal fury of static warfare. Excellent.

This poem was so alluring, and beautiful. It had a touch of sadness, because its base off of true events. Thank you very much for sharing!

deepwater,
The theme is a tough one. War is not happy ever. All arrangement is fine, smoothly readable, understandable and it leaves pictures in our minds. The flow is good.
There is no SPAG that I could see.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal
