Very well written this humorus piece. I need some of that overnight success. The poem is well written and is a joy to read. I wish the Authior success.

I always like your, slightly quirky, philosophical ponderings. They are so legitimate, and something that doesn't just pop into ones head on a given day. Glad I have a six left. Everything about this poem was entertaining, from the visuals to the fast paced rhythm and rhyme, to the observation.

Thanks so much, DALLAS! Yeah, I realize my observations of the world around me, as well of many of the things in it, are a bit eccentric at times, at best. However, I glad you get the satirical, dark humor in much of what I write. I sincerely appreciate that!

You look deeper than most.

Thanks, 'D'. I'm glad you see that, and that it comes across in my writing. Not everyone can, but that's okay. I still have good people such as yourself who do!

Happy Sunday, Dean. :.)

This deserved six stars for me. The message rings true for all writers as far as I am concerned. It is strange but it is the truth. I will modify it a bit by saying we, the writers, create our characters, breath life into them but the readers alone can nurture them to stand and walk and finally do the job to support the author. The art work is definitely a Dean Kuch trademark and you excel in this. Kudos to an exceptional write.

A very interesting poem .it is the story of every succesful book/writer, i think .No body remembers Arthur Conan Doyle ,but everyone knows about Sherlock holmes ,even if it is to mock a friend saying 'who do you think you are Sherlock Holmes?".When Conan Doyle killed Holmes in the story 'The final Problem', his fans protested and he had to revive him again.No220,Baker Street is 'really ' there in London as if there was a real Holmes! .I thought your poem perhaps was about him .In the first few stanzas ,I thought you may be referring to Rowling and harry potter .Any way I enjoyed your poem .Holmes exemplify your author's note.

Thank you very much for such a wonderfully insightful review, Sanku. I certainly do appreciate it.
I've often heard about the pressure that Doyle felt to revive Sherlock Holmes, and ultimately, he caved in to that pressure. I was thinking more of J.K Rowlings, and her Harry Potter books as I wrote this "what if" scenario, although I made the main character a man. However, Holmes is an excellent example to highlight what I'm trying to say in it.
Thanks so much again, my friend!

This tell the story of anyone who writes any genre. There s always the hunger for acceptance which sometimes never comes or not in the degree to which you aspire. However, with perseverance it will eventually happen and suddenly you are celebrated.

Thanks very much, emrpoems, and you're absolutely correct. With perseverance, practical application and practice, as it pertains to writing, the sky's the limit. How far you fly is completely up to you, and to a degree, your fans.

Anyone who has ever written a word of poetry or prose with hope that someone might share their thoughts, feelings, and be touched by their heartfelt words must, surely, appreciate every line of your poem. Thanks for the pleasure of another great poem. :-)

Oh, such a cruel thing to do to all those adoring fans who never denied his original work in the first place. Well done, a good show of misplaced vengeance.
created the book his passions craved
- should this be past tense?

Every published author will have some fans who would be impatience for the next novel. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

I've been one of those readers waiting for the next chapter, but now that I'm writing this puts things in a much different perspective. I like your point of view, but it would be cruel not to continue, so we'll continue to burn up the pages here on fanstory, for a while longer.
