I like that you ask a very important question for our generation. I believe the pride of people today will leave a legacy of outstanding achievements (the invention of internet) to be remembered by our descendants. I like the photo.

If no pride was taken in the achievements
Of our ancestors,
Will your achievements be worthy?
To be remembered by your descendants.

I would change it just slightly to;

If no pride was taken in the achievements
of our ancestors,
Will your achievements be worthy
to be remembered by your descendants?

I think that cleans it up in terms of punctuation and grammar. Other than that, great work on this short piece, thanks for sharing.

Looking at the image, it all depends who the ancestors are and equally whether or no one truly knows who their ancestors truly are. A good rhetorical question.
Best wishes,
RG

You put a lot of meaning in those few short words. I do like the picture, but the picture is what ties the poem together. You might want to write something that expresses the sentiment without the aid of a picture. other than that, nice job.

Hello Deepwater,
Wonderful piece of Spiritual Poetry coming straight from the depth of your heart and naturally touching the reader's heart!
Respect others if you want to be respected / AS you sow so shall you reap. It should never be forgotten.
Likewise, achievements/good achievements, even of the enemies - not to talk of our friends or family members or our ancestors - must be appreciated. Undoubtedly, only this spirit leads to the pinnacle of success.
Smooth and captivating flow.
Short and sweet,
Marvelous!

I guess respect has to be taught. Don't see much of that nowadays. Great imagery used in the photograph. I liked the way you pulled in the generational thing. Nicely done.

This is a powerful statement of having respect for those who've gone before us and paved the way, if we expect anyone to do that for us when we're gone. Would it maybe read better if those final 2 lines were one sentence with the question mark at the end? Just a suggestion. Love the artwork you chose to go with it. Nicely done.

Your poem is enlightenment for aboriginal, whites, blacks, browns and orientals alike. I have looked at my family and written about my achievement in terms of what they have done themselves. Illness has left some things unfinished and there are gaps of time that should have been unfettered but were not. I am proud of my family and friends. They have always made room for me.

Deep thoughts from the wishing well. Your poem is very thought provoking. If we forget the achievements of our ancestor we will be forgotten as well. Your poem makes me think of the saying, "Those who forget history will live it" or something like that. Anyways, this is a good poem.
