A very sad reality, so beautifully written, why do our young have to die in these bloody wars. war is hell
everyone is the enemy if wars did not exist we would enjoy eternal peace a utopia an end to all human suffering.
a deserved six, Mary

It takes a poet to remind us of the horror of this war to end all wars. My father was in the trenches, then in the Royal Fling Corps - out of the frying pan into the fire. Miraculously he survived, but in many ways was a partially closed book afterwards. Your lines are penned with feeling.

Hi!
Good to "meet" you.
It's never easy to fabricate any sort of written essay about war and convey the magnitude of anguish and destruction it forces upon its victims. But you have done so, and in a relatively gentle way. Your poem was provocative and poignant. I spent 2 years in Vietnam but was fortunate to come back still put together, both physically and mentally.
Your work touched me. I feel for our young men and women in the Mid East. It's just a modern day Vietnam, in my eyes.
Nicely done ...

We here in America at one time would never let the memories of our fallen ever pass with out a Poppy drive. Today I see none on the streets offered for such. What a shame. Thank you for this tribute. Well done. Blessings

We've lost too many people to war and violence. I wish everything could be solved with chocolate and coffee. When will people learn that just because you believe something different than I or love the same sex or what have you, in the end we're all the same. There is nothing different between us. We're all the same inside and war, we like to think it solves things, but does it really?

The First World War was particularly brutal with many thousands being buried on foreign soil! The interesting thing was they all thought that God was on there side! Beautifully written tribute to fallen soldier, eloquent and well expressed! Well done. Blessings, Roy.
