This is very clever and a lot of fun to read. As a proud American (who agrees we need to Make America Great Again - but only because of the shambles Trump is leaving it in), I always agree with any logical criticism of "FanStory reviewers." You did an excellent job of crucifying The Great Orange Blob without even mentioning his name. Your rhymes all work well, as always, and I even caught the few midline rhymes.

I'm glad I'm not running against you for an Extended Fiction prize. I suspect it could get violent.

I would roll over and let you tickle my tummy on your way to winning any extended Fiction prize if you entered. i am not a violent person - i laugh too often.

You may have just created the path to world peace. Instead of pointing a gun and saying "hands up," we should just instruct our enemies roll over and we'll tickle their tummies.

My first question is how do you know where you came in a contest? I have been on this site for years and still don't know how to get the results! Ha ha ha. Who wins is a complete mystery to me, but if you enter a contest you should never expect to win and if you do win then it is a good surprise. You made me smile with your rant here, love Dolly x

Lol. Hmm. Who does this sound like? I don't think he's on Fanstory, though. He's too busy tweeting and playing golf. Thanks for the funny satire. It's hard to know how a contest is won. I think as long as we keep learning and improving, that's a prize in itself.

I enter quite a few contests but mainly for the challenge of adhering to the contest and trying a different topic. I am quite competitive but it doesn't put me into a hissy fit of despondency if I don't get votes, whereas other writers on this site get the sulks and don't enter competitions if they have had 'failures'. I don't see any writing as a failure - it is an opportunity to learn and improve, just as you say.

I'm glad you couldn't resist, LisaMay. Your analogy comparing the voting on FanStory contests to the American election was right on point and very creative. You should demand a recount. Ask Tom what the procedure is for getting elections overturned.
Very funny.

I'm sure pleased you noticed it was a political satire - some readers thought I was a sore loser myself! That's just not so, personally; I enter contests to stretch myself, not expecting to come out a winner.
Haha... I'll not be contacting Tom to complain. The very thought!!
i know you are being facetious.

Ha ha
You never disappoint.
What will we bitch about when he is finally off the radar (can't happen fast enough.)
You did a nice job in your poem, under the guise of not winning FanStory contests. Is there a bit of a barb in there for that as well? I don't keep track but I imagine you've had multiple winning entries.
I always enjoy your work and Im quite sure I've voted for you in contests (when I'm not voting for myself :)

I am not an 'eye on the prize' person - i enter fanstory prompts to stretch myself with different topics, and while i have enjoyed some success i certainly wouldn't sulk if i didn't win, unlike that unpresidential twit.
I hope I don't have to bitch about anything for a while - i am nearly all bitched out.

LisaMay - BRAVO! BRAVO! AS FAR AS I AM CONCRNED YOU JUST WON THE GRAND PRIZE! You effectively attacked and conquered two irritants with one well written and fun to read poem. May the Force be with you - Jerry

Could this be ... satire? About ... a politician, perhaps? Anyone in particular ... ? Could it be ... ? Naaah! Silly me, always determined to discern metaphor where none exists. I've got to learn to take things literally. On that note: sucks for you that StoryLand contests are rigged.

Gee whiz Liz, you are catching on to this metaphor lark, disguised as a ton of bricks, haha. I get a bit heavy handed sometimes.

Me, me, me, is what I like to see, in golden letters let it read ME. Is that Ok, Jenny? :) I gotta ask permission from the boss before I admit I lost. I love the picture, it captures the real rage of it. :) thank you for sharing.

Very entertaining, Lisa. I was impressed with how you were able to articulate the thoughts of your poetic megalomanic who only does their poetic works for the sheer thrill of satisfying their own larger than life ego . Well done with this, by the way did you base this character on Donald Trump?

Ha, ha..." The votes were fin whenever I won...." You wrote a very ingenious poem that highlights so well the absurdity of the claim, or multiple claims. Very cleverly written, Lisa May, you have a gene for sagacity writing.
