LOL! Easy peasy to see why this was the contest winner! Talk about "something magic in the air" when two lovers kiss! I pretty much managed not to spit out my tea! So funny!

"Silly" is sometimes just what the doctor ordered!

I have to say I'm not much for this kind of humour ( although I hear it every day from my grandkids LOL)..But this is an absolutely brilliant example of a senyru with its amusing contrast between high romance and the basic earthiness of our human nature. Do google Prune Juice because you might like to join that community that specializes in writing senryu.
Congratulations on your contest win.
Stay safe and blessed

This is a witty poem. But I don't think farting in response to a kiss is a reason not to continue a relationship. You can't control when your body decides to release extra gas. Though it is embarrassing for both parties.
Keep writng and stay healthy
Happy Holidays.

I appreciate your review and excellent rating! I agree that farting is no reason to discontinue a relationship. Thank you again, and have a pleasant holiday season!

Congratulations! I love the unexpected humour of your poem.
He's not husband material if he can't tolerate a fart. It should be the kiss he notices, not the fart. Who doesn't love a good fart now and then??

Thank you very much for your review and excellent rating! I agree the character in the poem isn't husband material. My husband and I are comfortable enough with one another not to let silly things like that bother us. <3 I hope your holidays are bright and merry!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and rate my poem. This was my first time submitting a poem in a contest, and I didn't know what to expect from this website or the reviewing process. I was pleased to receive helpful and valuable feedback, and I fell in love with this community's kindness and developmental mindset. I appreciate all of you, and I look forward to returning the gift of meaningful feedback to you.
Warm wishes,
Jeni

You succeeded in making me laugh at the mention of the word "farted."
The objective correlative of your work reminisces a stalemated love affair occasioned by the farting of the female partner in the duo.
The work highlights how pleasurable it all went until the farting came to spoil it all.
The work earns its texture through its strict compliance of the 5-7-5 syllables count specified for the contest. And more so, its humorous ending.
Excellent work. Bravo.

Thank you! Fortunately, it is not biographical--just a fear I used to have when dating my husband. Take care!

I believe this is the first funny haiku I have read. If it is not then surely it is the funniest. No way I saw the last line coming. An excellent entry into this contest, good luck. Good job.

Thank you! I've always been a sucker for fart jokes.

Hahaha! The farting just spoiled the show. If there was true love I think that would have just been fun. Thanks for saying much in a few words. I love the fun. Success in the contest.

Thank you! I agree that a true love scenario would have had a happy ending. As much as we want to, we can't always control our bodies. :D
