Glad you liked the overall presentation for this contest entry.

You may be correct about the spelling. My spouse agrees with you given her limited Latin knowledge. I had looked up the word on the online dictionary. Here was one example:

Primary concerns are cumulous clouds, a thick cloud layer and surface electric field conditions.

cumulous is not a noun while cumulus is a noun.

cumulous and cumulus both are adjectives.

As adjectives, cumulous and cumulus are synonyms with the definitions:
of or related to cumulous clouds
